(African Stand) — Kenyan queen of Ohangla music Maureen Ochieng is popularly known as Lady Maureen dies after a long illness at Hospital in Migori.

The songstress passed on at 3 am on Saturday in Uriri, Migori where she was recuperating after she was discharged from hospital last week, her family said.

The musician who has been battling long illness had been discharged from hospital and was recovering at home.

The news of her demise was shared by her sister Bella Achieng who said the musician had been treated at the Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital in Migori.

The deceased Lady Maureen was known as the Queen of Ohangla music who produced popular songs such as Jogi Jokuoge, Alemo, Gor Kogallo, Raila Okelo county among others.

She has been mourned by among others, ODM leader Raila Odinga who described Maureen as an immensely talented star who held her fort in the dynamic music industry.

But Ohangla music fans have been dealt with a big blow following the death of popular Ohangla maestro Lady Maureen.
